A native Texan, Shelley Buckner was born June 7, 1989 in Dallas. Shelley has possessed a love of performing from a very young
age. Already an accomplished competitive figure skater, Shelley’s interests began to move to acting when she was young.
Although she attended one of the most elite all girls prep schools in the country, Shelley truly believed that she was destined
for Hollywood.
Buckner began modeling, acting in plays and commercials locally. It was at an IMTA talent competition where she was discovered
by a leading management company. Her first pilot season in LA, at the tender age of 12 years old, Buckner landed a role in the FOX pilot “The
Untitled Ricky Blitt Pilot.” Although the pilot was not picked up, she had then truly caught the bug. Buckner
continued acting, and to do so, split her time between school in Dallas and work in Los Angeles. She landed a guest star role
on CBS’s “Still Standing” and continued with her commercial and modeling work even being named Miss Dallas
Texas American Pre-Teen. This past year after finally moving to LA, she appeared in guest-starring roles on FOX’s “Method
and Red,” Disney’s “That’s so Raven,” CBS's "Center of the Universe," and landed the recurring
role of Amber Starr on the first season of Aaron Spelling's show SUMMERLAND on the WB.
This year, Buckner continues in the second season
of the hit drama on the WB, “Summerland,” where she plays Amber Starr. She will also be appearing in a recurring
role as Courtney Marcus in the new Nickelodeon show “The Power Strikers,” which will start airing this September 2005.
